Wii: Argon 2.0 Final

Es ist schneller passiert als wohl jeder dachte und dann auch noch ganz anders. Die 2.0 läuft laut Angabe vom Infectus Team problemlos in allen D2C Chipsätzen (also auch "D2C_2") und das sogar ohne externen Quarz, wie anfangs angekündigt.

Wii: Erster PC Emu!

Mit Dolphin ist es nun erstmals möglich die Wii auf dem PC zu emulieren. Das funktioniert scheinbar sogar recht gut, wenn man den Berichten mit Screenshots Glauben schenken mag. Find ich recht erstaunlich, auch wenn es ja nicht viel anders sein wird, als der GameCube Emu.

Wii Custom Firmware *lol*

Laut WiiLi ist eine Custom Firmware für die Wii in Arbeit. Allerdings stellt sich die Frage, wie diese CFW aussehen soll. Was ist an ihr "custom"? Darüber gibt die Seite keinerlei Informationen. Mir fällt auch nicht viel ein, was man da anpassen könnte, denn Homebrew lässt sich ja schon direkt starten, und sonst gibt es (verglichen mit der PSP) nur noch Kopien, die wird ein Firmware Hack allein aber nie zum Starten bekommen.

Das Laufwerk check unabhängig von der Konsole, ob es sich um eine Kopie handelt, also würde die Kopie nie gelesen werden. Die Firmware wiederum check dann die Signatur der Daten und verhindert Homebrew. Das sind aber zwei verschiedene Paar Schuh.

PS3: Little Big Planet für Oktober angekündigt

PS3: 80GB Version kommt

Die 40er PS3 wird eingestellt und dafür erscheint eine 80GB Version mit einem DualShock 3 Controller. Alle anderen Features bleiben in Bezug auf die 40GB Version gleich, genau so wie der Preis.

Anscheinend hat Sony ein neues Mainboard für die PSP produziert das ein TA-88 Board sein soll und nicht nur das machen von Pandora verhindern kann, sondern auch Tools wie Despertar del Cementerio abblocken kann. Die PSP's die dieses Board haben, sollen auch einen neuen Prozessor haben. Anscheinend soll es das Board bereits in Asien geben und es soll bald auch zu uns in den Westen kommen.

Diese Informationen sollten mit Vorsicht genossen werden, da man sich noch nicht 100%ig sicher ist. Wenn man merkt dass man ein solches Board hat soll man sich bei MaGiXieN melden, der dann die Informationen an MathieuLH, Dark_Alex, Miriam usw. weitergeben kann.

Bushing's 'bug' to be released - copied games on un-modified Wii's possible?

Some comments by MartinStatic have sparked rumors that soon copied games will be possible on a non modded Wii just as Bushing suggested - "within the next days we will publish a library to read DVD-Rs without a chip in homebrew." More at Wiibrew.org.

New Wii firmware out, perhaps it has Bushing's secret blocked

Wiili.org reports that Nintendo has issued a very minor Wii update which states it only updates the Photo channel. However the respective site speculates that it could have blocked the bug that Bushing reported last week.

Das würde ja heißen, Nintendo hat doch reagiert. Aber mal sehen.
Ich kann aber immer noch nicht so recht glauben, dass man mittels Firmware Hack Rohlinge lesen kann, aber nun gut. Hab ich mich wohl geirrt.

Neuer ICQ 5.1 Patch da

Seit heute streiken mal wieder alle ICQ 5.1 Messenger und verlangen nach einem Zwangsupdate auf ICQ 6. Es gibt aber inzwischen wieder einen Patch (v1.4), mit dem ICQ weiterhin funktioniert.

Neue PSP-3000

So wie es aussieht, kommt bald ein neues PSP Model "PSP-30xx" in die Läden. Diese wurde nämlich bei FCC registriert.

Erste Backups auf der PS3!

The video shows:

- Warhawk running from HDD

- no PKG version

- no WH disc while WH is running

- Motorstorm running as proxy disc

- legal way

I wont explain the details here till the project is finished 100%, also cuz many devs want to take a look at first and not get it patched that fast. I can say that if all will work like I want it to you'll need:

- "special" game dump of the game you want to play from HDD

- one (any) original bd game

- 2x minimum 60GB HDD's (illegal way - it worx but its not allowed in most countrys - its working like a packed game on psp memory stick)

OR

-1 60GB HDD + original disc (legal way - no need to be inserted while playing)

Im using newest firmware PAL 60GB SKU. 3 games tested yet - working.
Games which should be possible from the knowledge i got yet:

- Warhawk
- Motorstorm
- Resistance
- GT5
- COD3
- ...

I cant check more atm, as I dont have else here. The final way will be a bit different than the video shows. Even there are 2 different ways then to do it, thats because there are 2 different groups of games. One can be done with 1 HDD but then you need the original disk of the game.

all in all its a hack for rich ppl as you need to have 2 big HDD's to store all games on it, which you want to play. 2 games would require actually about 50-100GB on both HDD's. if you have much space on pc hdd thats no prob as you can just backup and rewrite the data on HDD's.

the clicking which sounds liek keyboard typing in the background is just the cam auto focus.

Wii: Argon unterstützt nun auch D2E Laufwerke!

Das Infectus Team hat die Firmware 2.2 für den Argon A3P250 released. Diese Firmware funktioniert für D2C v2 und D2E. Ältere Laufwerke werden theoretisch auch unterstützt, wurden aber nicht geteset. Es ist jedoch nicht ratsam dafür diese Firmware zu verwenden, da die alte ja funktioniert.

Wii ISO Loader?

Es wurde vor längerer Zeit mal angekündigt, dass es mittels Software Hack auf der Wii möglich sein soll, Kopien abzuspielen, man also keinen Chip mehr in der Wii braucht. Halte ich aber für Bullshit, da das Laufwerk meiner Meinung nach zu eigenständig ist. Der "Erfinder" des Hacks hat sich bei Nintendo gemeldet, aber Nintendo hat nicht reagiert. Deshalb drohte er damit den Hack zu releasen... irgendwie kam nie was. Der ein oder andere Erinnert sich vllt an die Story.

Nun wurde ein ISO Loader auf tehskeen.com angekündigt, ein Video wurde auch gezeigt. Allerdings handelt es sich wohl doch eher um einen Loader für DVD-R Kopien, als um einen ISO Loader, denn man muss laut News die ISO brennen, vorheriges Patchen ist auch nötig.
Ob das Video nun echt ist, sei mal dahingestellt. Wie immer gilt daher: erst glauben, wenn es auch da ist.

It's time for another exclusive video from TehSkeen. This time our feature presentation is a demonstration of the work in progress Nintendo Wii Backup Loader coded by the infamous and often controversial hacking guru Waninkoko. Yeah, read the first sentence again if you're at a loss for words.

The ISO Loader works like this. You create a legal backup of a game you own, convert the ISO file with a special program then burn it. After this, you copy over the ISO Loader to the Homebrew Channel and run it. It will boot the legal backup. Pretty simple. Oh, and no modchip is required. However, it does require you to have Waninkoko's Custom IOS installed.

This is a unprecedented moment in Nintendo Wii hacking history as is probably going to cause a massive movement in the scene. Too bad Nintendo didn't take Bushing's advice on blocking the method of doing this. Maybe they will now? Of course, this sort of thing isn't condoned by the "general" homebrew scene and when it's released will ultimately lead to some turmoil.

TehSkeen doesn't support piracy. We don't index releases, we don't spread torrents, we don't run contests to dump VC/Wiiware games. Heck, we don't host any tools to inject WAD files with. Waninkoko's motivation for creating the ISO Loader is unknown, but it is illegal and morally wrong to use it for booting illegal copies of games you don't own.
